Validation

Validation – The process of ensuring an instrument or method is working as expected and performing satisfactorily for the intended use.

  • This process is a critical quality control check, used to ensure that equipment and procedures are ready and able to begin work. This may include the record keeping techniques, calculations, and software used in a given process. Instruments and procedures may need to be revalidated over time or as parameters change.
  • Validation is a crucial step in any accredited procedure and validation records are popular points of inquiry for auditors.
