pH - Logarithmic expression of alkalinity or acidity where:

• pH < 7 is acidic, pH = 7 is neutral, and pH > 7 is alkaline
• pH = -log₁₀c where c = hydrogen ion concentration in mol/L
• pH Buffers are additives that work to prevent shifts in pH by neutralizing the acid or base added to the solution.
