Raw Material

Raw Material – this is used interchangeably with ‘starting material’; both refer to original materials used to create other products. This could, and often does, mean a solid material like metal pieces or powdered salts. This could also refer to very concentrated forms of liquids like acid. At Inorganic Ventures, we generally do not sell starting materials (as we currently cannot certify them and it is not very cost effective for us or our customers), but rather use them to create aqueous concentrates from which we manufacture our other products. Some customers will have ‘starting material requirements’ such as avoiding sulfur from sulfuric acid in solution with calcium because it may precipitate or using ammonium chloride instead of sodium chloride if they are also testing for sodium.
