Lot Expiration Date

Lot Expiration Date – This is the date at which we have determined the chemical stability will begin to fail, or the longest period for which we have stability data with which to guarantee the integrity of our products. Most products have a 5 year lot expiration date – this is 5 years from the date of manufacture.

  • Most products are chemically stable for 5+ years, so long as water loss through the walls of the bottle (transpiration), which will increase element concentration over time, is held at bay.

Think of the 5-year lot expiration date vs the one year opened bag usage period of validity like this: when a gallon of milk is purchased from the store, the milk will have a printed expiration date. This is the date at which the milk will start to spoil even when stored properly in the fridge. But, if you remove the milk from the fridge and leave it on your countertop, the milk will begin to spoil much more quickly due to the effects of the environment around it.
