Chemical Stability and Compatibility - Storage bottles for standards
Which bottles do you recommend if we are planning on storing on standards that are prepared in 2% HNO3?

For almost all matrices and element concentrations we would recommend low density polyethylene (LDPE), as it is the cleanest (and most cost-effective) of the common, commercially available container materials. Instances when we would not recommend LDPE for metal standards in 2% HNO3 would include low concentrations of Hg or some precious metals (e.g., Au), as they can suffer adsorption effects. |
