Thank you for the detailed information. Since the amount of Sb in the solution is not increasing you are probably observing memory effects, which we have observed as well for Sb during ICP analyses. Our experience has been that Sb frequently 'sticks' to the peristaltic pump tubing, so one option is to change that and see if it helps. Alternatively, trace amounts of HF (~0.2% v/v) added to the rinse solution are effective at reducing memory effects for Sb, and HF concentrations at that level are generally not damaging to glass ICP sample introduction systems (though we would recommend additional rinses without HF and close observation of Si background levels). |
