Oxidation states in IV products.
I am curious of the oxidation state(s) of three standards: 1000ppm Ca (CGCA1), 100ppm Fe (MSFE-100PPM), and 1000ppm Cu (CGCU1).

Starting material for ICP sulfur (S) standards
Can you tell me what compound you use for the 1000 ug/mL sulfur ICP standard? The standard I have right now uses ammonium sulfate, and it appears to be coming out of solution when it prep it with my diluent, 190 proof ethanol, at or above about 15 ug/mL.

Silver (Ag) stability in multi-element standards with chloride
I am having stability problems with Ag in my standards. I have primarily two sets of standards, one for testing sulfuric acid and one for testing lead-based materials (lead pastes and lead oxides). For my standards, I am using IV-ICPMS-71A, and adding Pt, Cl, Sb, Re, Bi, Te, and Sn. Standards are 1, 0.5, 0.1, and 0.01 ppm. I acidify the standards with 2.0% HNO3. In addition, the sulfuric acid standards have added 10,000 ppm H2SO4; the lead standards contain 10,000 ppm Pb added. I do not add Cl to the lead standard. The remainder of the standard is DI water. In any case, it seems like Ag is not stable in my standards. Sometimes they will fail Ag calibration immediately, and sometimes they will hold up for several hours to a day. Never more than one day. Can you suggest a way to make my standards more stable?

Titanium (Ti) and zinc (Zn) absorption on container materials
I am curious as to the likelihood of a sample containing titanium and zinc in the 1-40 ppm level in 0.4% HF and 2.0% HNO3 adsorbing onto different containers. We use polypropylene vessels for storage and do not see any stability issues but others using TFM have suggested that they have seen elemental loss. Do you have any recommendations for stability and/or storage container choices?

Element compatibility in multi-element standards
I have an inquiry regarding compatibility of multi elements standards. I am aware that this has been asked a few times in your FAQ/Tech Centre sections. Based from what I've read from your website, I learned that Si and Ti are incompatible with particular analytes as the matrix typically contains trace HF.I would like to use a multi element standard with Si and Ti. The standard mix will have Al, Ca, Fe, Ba, Cr, K, Mg, Mn, Na, P, Si and Ti. Si will be at 250 ppm while everything else is at 100 ppm or less. Will I be able to mix all of these elements together? The reason I am asking is that I found some products from your catalog (IV-26 and IV-28) containing all of these elements except P.

Chemical stability of standards
How long will a fairly average standard solution remain chemically stable — for example, 6 ppm lead in HNO3?

Multi-element standard compatibility and preparation
I want to create a 22-element blend composed of Zn, As, Se, Mo, Co, Ni, Cu, Ba, Cs, V, Sb, Cd, Pb, Cr, Mn, Th, Tl, Pt, W, Be, Pd, and U. I plan to create calibration standards diluted from this blend for low-level ICP-MS analysis. Can you provide further information about the compatibility and preparation of such a blend?

Incompatible metals in solution
Can you give some general information on metals that are incompatible with each other within the same solution (for example, element A causes element B to drop out of solution)?

Stabilizing nitrite (NO2) with ammonium hydroxide (NH4OH)
Can you tell me specifically why the neutralization of a sample with NH4OH doesn't affect nitrite concentration?

Recertification and international standards or practices
I am a graduate student working on the shelf life and expiration date of chemicals, and I am interested in researching the re-testing of chemicals and if this methodology is used by companies throughout the world. So, I would like to know if you work with re-testing, what products can be retested and if you use some legislation or standard to do it.
