Chemical Stability and Compatibility - Tin (Sn) products in different acid matrices

I have a question with regards to a standard, I need to order a tin (Sn) standard, but am not sure which one I need. There are two different Sn standards, one is listed as CGSN1, and the other is CGSNCL1. Why would SnCl be used instead of Sn, and visa versa?

The difference between the two products is the acid matrix used to stabilize Sn in solution. The CGSN1 product uses a combination of HNO3 and HF as the matrix, as fluoride from the HF provides a complexing ligand that stabilizes Sn. The CGSNCL1 product uses HCl as the matrix, as the chloride performs a similar function as fluoride. Both options are offered as stock products due to the fact that some customers prefer to avoid, or cannot use, HF containing solutions in their labs.
