Chemical Stability and Compatibility - TCT - Bottle expiration versus lot expiration

We have a 125 mL single element stock standard for 10 ug/mL silver that has never been opened. We noticed that the packaging on the new standards we are receiving in TCT bags lists a one year expiration from open date but a much longer expiration for unopened bottles. Since we received this standard before you updated your packaging but have yet to open it, we were just wondering if the extended stability could also be applied to this particular bottle of Ag standard.

The ‘much longer expiration period’ provided with newer lots of our stock products that are packaged in TCT bags refers to the lot expiration and not the bottle expiration. The lot expiration is when the entire lot of product expires, and the bottle expiration is when an individual bottle expires. The much longer lot expiration is only applicable when the product bottle is stored in the sealed TCT bag; once the sealed TCT bag is opened all products have only a 1 year expiration. In other words, the longer expiration period results from the sealed TCT bag, and not if the product bottle itself has (or has not) been opened.
