General Spectroscopy - Matching wavelengths for ICP-OES internal standards

I am currently working with ICP-OES units from different manufacturers. We use Y as an internal standard for most of our methods. My question is, how much does it matter to match up low wavelengths with a low wavelength internal standard and high wavelengths with a high wavelength internal standard?

For optical emission ICP, the distinction of ionic versus atomic line, and choosing appropriately, is considered more critical than trying to match the wavelength. That is, ionic lines are better corrected by ionic lines, and atomic lines by atomic lines. This consideration, in conjunction with other criteria for choosing an internal standard (not present in sample, etc.) should be considered more important factors when choosing internal standards than matching wavelengths.
