Measurement and Results - ICP-MS Fe interferences on priority pollutant metals
In a solution with 200-300 mg/L of iron are there any known interferences with any of the 13 priority pollutant metals (Sb, Be, As, etc.) when running on an ICP-MS?

We’re assuming the 13 priority pollutant metals referred to are Sb, As, Be, Cd, Cr, Cu, Pb, Hg, Ni, Se, Ag, Tl, and Zn. For ICP-MS analyses of Fe-rich solutions, interferences due to relatively high Fe concentrations would not be expected for these elements. If you are observing unusual results and suspect Fe interferences are responsible, additional information such as method matrix, sample type, etc., might allow us to comment more fully. |
