Chemical Stability and Compatibility - Hypochlorous acid standard
We'd like to use hypochlorous acid ions (ClOˉ) for a method, and wonder why you don't offer a hypochlorous acid standard?

Hypochlorous acid (HClO) is formed when chlorine dissolves in water, and it quickly dissociates into hypochlorite (ClO-) and hydronium (H3O+) ions with limited stability. This limited stability is the reason such solutions are often characterized as containing "free residual chlorine" which represents both HClO and ClO-, as it's not feasible to accurately measure (or certify) only one of these compounds in solution. |
