General Spectroscopy - Difference between 1-5% HNO3 matrices
I just wanted to ask why is it preferred to use 2-5% of nitric acid solution as a matrix instead of 1%. My application is regards measuring groundwater samples. My calibration curve came out beautifully using 2% HNO3, and I just wanted to understand why you did not advise using a 1% solution.

We frequently offer a range of recommended acid concentrations so that the customer has more choices to choose from. The range mentioned (2-5% HNO3) merely reflects the most popular and most frequently requested acid concentrations. Lower or higher acid concentrations are suitable for most elements at most concentrations, and we’ll gladly discuss possible options for any requested standard.
