Measurement and Results - Choosing interference check standards

We want to introduce interference checks to our ICP-MS. You have a lot of different type of standards for this purpose. We are completely new to running such checks as part of a daily routine. My question is concerning what type of IFC to chose and at which concentrations. We run more or less 30 elements on our ICP and Al has the highest concentration about 15 - 25 ppm.

The type of interference check solution (ICS or IFC) to use will depend upon the elements you wish to measure and the expected sample matrix. For ICP-MS methods, the check solution will typically contain relatively high concentrations of low mass elements commonly present in many samples, such as Na, Al, P, K, Ca, Fe and Cl (chloride), as accounting for interferences is usually only necessary for masses lees than ~100 amu. If it would be possible to obtain a complete list of all the elements that you wish to measure, and some information about the types of samples to be analyzed, we should be able to provide specific recommendations as to which interference check solutions may be most appropriate.
