We have performed limited stability studies in aqua regia, and have observed more than 2 years stability for 0.6 to 60 ppm Au solutions that are in 20% aqua regia (15% v/v HCl, 5% v/v HNO3). More generally, after dissolving Au we typically get rid of all NOx by adding HCl and heating and have had excellent stability with Au at ppb levels in an HCl matrix.
