Corporate Relocation Q&A

December 2008:  Earlier this year, we announced that Inorganic Ventures would be relocating from Lakewood, New Jersey to Christiansburg, Virginia. Today, that announcement has become a reality. This informative Q&A will answer many common questions about the move.

Why did Inorganic Ventures decide to relocate?

Inorganic Ventures' operations have grown tremendously in recent years, from our new distribution center in Madrid, Spain to our increased productivity in custom blending. As a result, we outgrew our Lakewood, NJ manufacturing facility. CEO Dr. Paul Gaines decided that 2008 was the right time to construct a state-of-the-art facility that could sustain and facilitate our company's long-term growth. Christiansburg, Virginia was chosen as our center of operations, manufacturing, and distribution because of Montgomery County's trained workforce and proximity to research opportunities with Virginia Tech.

How will the relocation benefit me as a customer?

This relocation is allowing us to meet our customers' needs faster and more efficiently than ever before. The new multi-million dollar facility is taking advantage of the most current technology and laboratory design concepts promoting greater productivity and efficiency. Additionally, the manufacturing center has been designed to be friendly to the environment, helping Inorganic Ventures to be one of the first standard manufacturers to go green.

In what specific ways is Inorganic Ventures going green?

We're doing everything we can to respect and protect the environment:

Bulk manufacturing
Bulk manufacturing
  • The new facility was designed to be extremely energy-efficient
  • At least 95% of all commercial waste is being recycled
  • We're using AirMax™ fume hoods that scrub all exhaust and eliminate harmful fumes and air pollutants
  • Every light fixture is outfitted with high-efficiency CFL bulbs and fluorescents
  • We're primarily using recycled materials, including paper and plastics
  • We're using eco-friendly cleaning supplies
  • We're using biodegradable packing materials
  • We'll be purchasing additional materials from "green" suppliers

We're very excited to be one of the first standard manufacturers to move toward green manufacturing. We're hoping other CRM suppliers will join us in this important step forward.

Will the relocation affect me in other ways?

As a result of the move, our ground shipping timetables will be changing slightly. Most of our customers will see no difference in the time it takes to ship our products. However, some eastern regions will notice a change of plus or minus one day, depending upon their proximity to southern Virginia.
